Frederick County Division of Fire & Rescue Services (FCDFRS) and Frederick County Government are continuing to invest in the Wolfsville community to enhance public safety, by installing the new Wolfsville Rural Water Supply Cistern. A major improvement has been made to the local water supply infrastructure, supported by the Wolfsville Ruritan Club, which provided the site for the new installation, at 12708 Brandenburg Hollow Road. The new cistern provides a reliable, immediately accessible water supply for fire suppression operations in an area of the county where hydrants do not exist. This 30,000-gallon underground fire protection cistern is capable of supporting a 1,000 GPM flow for tanker-filling operations, and serves as an important resource alongside the existing dry hydrants in the area, which were previously installed with help from Frederick County. During the unveiling, fire and rescue personnel conducted a live demonstration, by connecting Wolfsville VFC's Tanker 21 to the cistern and flowing water through a master stream device. |
