| Wolfsville Volunteer Fire Company has officially finalized the sale of its former “Special Unit 21” and “Utility 21” trucks, two vehicles that faithfully served the Wolfsville community for more than 25 years. The company is replacing those units with a new 2026 Ram 2500 Crew Cab with a Reading utility body. The new vehicle will combine the roles of both former trucks into one more efficient unit, with a primary focus on supporting emergency medical services. Department officials said this change reflects a commitment to both operational efficiency and financial responsibility. “This new unit allows us to better support our EMS operations while also making the most of our fundraising dollars and being responsible stewards of taxpayer support,” the company said. Over the next several weeks, the new vehicle will undergo installation of emergency lighting and graphics before being placed into service. The department emphasized that EMS coverage in the Wolfsville area will remain uninterrupted during the outfitting process. The former units were purchased by the Boonsboro Fire Department, giving the vehicles a new mission in service to a neighboring community. “We are grateful that these trucks will continue to serve and help protect another community,” the company said. “We wish Boonsboro Fire Department many years of safe and successful service with them.” Wolfsville Volunteer Fire Company also expressed sincere appreciation to the community members whose continued support made the upgrade possible. Funds raised through events such as bingo, butchering, Sportsman’s Night, and 50/50 drawings play a direct role in helping the department provide dependable fire and EMS services. The department thanked residents, supporters, and volunteers for their ongoing commitment to public safety in Wolfsville.
